Gay marriage loses in NY, 24-38

The New York state legislature, after a long delay, voted against marriage equality 24-38. No Republicans voted for the measure.

The defeat makes it likely that the New Jersey state legislature will either not vote or will also vote in the negative.

There were a few beautiful speeches, though, and at least one undecided voter who voted yes, Sen. Ruth Hassell-Thompson.

    We’ll have more soon.
